The Vieilles Vignes is an altogether more serious wine, vinified in barrels and given a 15 month élevage. A bouquet of almond cream, green apple, white stone fruit and vanilla bean introduces a powerful and concentrated palate. There is lovely cut and minerality balancing its considerable weight. This is a cuvée that ages well, though it's approachable in its youth too. The 2010 is drinking beautifully right now.
