Florent Rouve, Viré-Clessé Vieilles Vignes, Burgundy, 2014

Viré-Clessé is a fairly new appellation formed of the villages which used to be bottled under Mâcon-Clessé and Mâcon-Viré. This is a charming wine, full of ripe apple, peach and acacia notes. The creamy palate is weighty but there's a fresh, elegant citrus edge.

Shows peach, honeysuckle and pear notes on the palate. This is a serious and weighty, concentrated example of Viré-Clessé that would embarrass many village Meursaults. Judiciously oaked, rich and round on the palate, with great acidity.
