There are cheaper Beaujolais wines around (including the good value Society own-label Beaujolais-Villages recommended from this same tasting), but this is a step up in seriousness. The Côte du Py vineyard, with its schist-based soils, produces wines of intensity and power. There's a generosity of fleshy red plum fruit here, but also structure and a streak of minerality. You could safely lay this down for a few years.
