There are twice as many Sauvignon Blancs - 15 in total - on Aldi's shelves as Chardonnays, so customers (and Aldi's buyers) must love it. While the Leaf Plucker from South Africa (£6.99) and Exquisite Collection Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (£7.99) are firm favourites, this new organic example from Gascony is worth a try. It has flavours of soft mango, gooseberry and gentle passion fruit on a weighty palate with a bright, zesty acidity.
