The cheaper Le Bijou rosé has been a regular at Waitrose for a while, but it's never really excited me. This new listing, Eminence de Bijou, is definitely worth the extra few quid, and is a great choice if you're looking for Provençal character on a more Languedoc budget (it's still under £15, and occasionally on offer at nearer the £10 mark)! It's an elegant blend of Grenache and Cinsault with a little Rolle added, and the Grenache was part (15%) fermented in French oak. It's a pretty pale shade in the glass, but with a lovely depth of flavour: watermelon, redcurrant and white flowers jostling for attention. Drinking really well now, this is my Waitrose rosé pick of the summer in terms of bang for your buck.
