Another new Majestic exclusive from the Languedoc, this blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah was made by Olivier Mignard, whose winemaking CV includes 20 years at Jaboulet in the Rhône – so Grenache and Syrah very much his usual stomping ground, except grown here in the scenic area of Causses-et-Veyran in St-Chinian. The wine is unoaked and displays a fresh purity of blackberry and red berry fruit, with an attractive darker, earthy backdrop. A great option to accompany grilled meats or a beef stew. Mix-six price: £11.99.
