The Languedoc (here, the sub-region of Faugères) is a better value hunting ground for rosé than nearby Provence. I'd like a little more character here – it's slightly too neutral – but this is a good-value choice for those who favour a bone-dry, restrained style of rosé. (If you prefer one with more colour and buckets of fruit, try the German rosé in the same range.) A blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, it's very pale, with a clean and dry herbiness. Would be delicious with garlic prawns.
