Fonjoya, Terra Autentica, Terrasses du Larzac, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2018

This Syrah-dominated blend from the south of France is drinking really well at five years old. Vinified and aged solely in concrete vats and bottle, it retains all the vibrancy of its bold black fruit character. Medicinal and spicy aromas are followed in the mouth by intense plummy fruits, more spice, hints of chocolate and a wave of fresh acidity. Juicy and well balanced, the fruit is supported by grippy but nicely integrated tannins and it finishes with flavours of currants, spice and a hint of blueberry.
