Le Soula, Blanc, Côtes Catalanes, 2012

A savoury blend of mainly Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc from older vines grown biodynamically in the Fenouillèdes region of Roussillon’s Pyrenean foothills. Aged for 21 months in 500-litre demi muids, it is mineral and complex, showing lovely evolution of nutty apples, tropical fruit and sweet hay, plus bright acidity and a textured mouthfeel. Delicious now but it will age well.
