The 2012 vintage wasn't one of Bordeaux's most lauded, but this is a steal at £10 when on offer between 4 and 17 December (one of Waitrose's Ten at £10). There's a lovely balance between primary fruit and leathery evolution, with cedariness from a year in barrel. Made by one of Bordeaux's most respected consultants, Eric Boissenot, this is a good-value everyday claret in a classic style.
