Domaine Mérieau is now based in Montrichard, in the premises previously owned by grower/negociant Paul Buisse. With more than 35 hectares on the south side of the Cher Valley, Jean-François Mériau has been in charge since 2000. The domaine is in conversion to organic viticulture. The 100% Gamay for this Le Bois Jacou is picked by han, and then part fermented using carbonic maceration. The 2020 dark coloured Le Bois Jacou has fig and prune aromas, mouthfilling texture and is a rich and powerful style of Gamay.
