Tesco, Finest Pouilly-Fumé, Loire, France 2022

The Tesco Finest own-label wines often succeed at combining typicity and value. This classic Pouilly-Fumé shows more interest than the Finest Sancerre (another Loire Sauvignon Blanc style), with an attractive richness of quite tropical gooseberry fruit, zesty lime freshness, notes of flint and green herbs, and racy acidity. A lovely balance between tangy fruit and steeliness. Pair with seafood or goat's cheese (the latter a classic match for this style).
