Domaine d’Aigues Belles, Cuvée du Poirier des Rougettes, France, 2019

Gilles Palatan and his nephews run this excellent 20ha estate, between Montpellier and Nîmes. 80% Grenache and 20% Cinsault, hand-harvested. A powerful rosé with more than a touch of Domaine Tempier (well-reputed producer in Bandol) about it. Good concentration, ripe peach and red berries on the palate, with crisp acidity keeping the palate fresh. Just needs a UK importer!
