Château de Berne, Rosé, Côtes de Provence, France 2022

Château de Berne is a beautiful château to visit if you want the full-on Provençal experience. Failing that you could just reach for its distinctively shaped bottle – looks like a bottle of olive oil. The wine inside, organically produced, has the red berry fruit character that is so typical of Provence rosé, but in a riper and less restrained expression than some examples of the style. This one if fairly full-on and fruit-forward, with ripe to overripe red strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant notes, alongside some peach stone fruit. Packs quite a punch for Provence.
