Mirabeau, Côtes de Provence, Pure Rosé, Provence, 2014

Fermented and aged in free-standing amphorae this shows admirable complexity for a rosé created from vines just 10 years old. It’s delightfully fragrant, with aromas of violets and blackberries leading on to a juicy, dense but pure-fruited palate with silky tannins and a mineral-flecked finish.
This négoce venture was set up by English ex-pat Stephen Cronk with the help of the flying winemaker Jo Ahearne MW. Not just a pretty packaging, this Grenache Syrah and Vermentino blend has a very pretty and fragrant nose of red cherries, grapefruits and spice. Lively and refreshing wine with a complex palate that will complement many dishes.
