Southern Rhône reds are typically Grenache dominated, in contrast to the (generally more expensive) reds from the northern Rhône, where Syrah plays main fiddle. Côtes du Rhône named Village wines often offer a great quality-price ratio, as here with this spicy and perfumed medium-bodied red. Lots of red plummy fruit, supple and very quaffable.
