An evocative nose full of leathery dark fruits and tobacco aromas as well as touches of charred pot pourri - wonderfully expressive aromas - fruit, smoke and spice. It's intense and driving on the palate, delivering a full-bodied mouthfeel complete with chewy tannins that instantly grip and cover the mouth while the ripe fruit and menthol freshness and liquorice spice take hold. Despite being 13 years old now, the age isn't so apparent on the palate with plenty of lively juice and freshness still. A really delicious bottle of wine that has plenty of interesting characteristics and will pair well with meats, stews and hearty meals. Definitely one to seek out and try.
