Meyer-Näkel, Blauschiefer Spätburgunder, Ahr, Germany 2018

Roasted coffee beans and wild herbs open up to a bouquet of red and dark cherry, plus hints of chocolate cherry liqueur. Aged mostly in used French oak barrels for 11 months. Juicy and elegant on the palate, with dark berries, dried rose and just a touch of mineral tannins for structure. A gentle Spätburgunder from Ahr for delicate red meat dishes.
