Staatliche Weinbaudomäne Oppenheim, Riesling, 2013

Rheinhessen's red slate slopes have imbued this well-priced Riesling with great flinty minerality, joining leafy, autumnal flavours of russet apples, juicy ripe pear and lemon zest. It has a crisp acid bite and an elegant length, offering delicious drinking now. A lovely match for roast pork.
