Aldi's small but increasing Greek wine offering is one of the best on the high street – the 2021 Aspri Petra Assyrtiko (£6.99) continues on from the delicious 2020 vintage. But this single-vineyard Chardonnay from high-altitude limestone vineyards is a real star. The weighty, chalky-textured palate is packed with ripe citrus and stone fruit and supported by toasty oak spice. It's a serious, complex and ageworthy wine well worth splashing out on.
