Domaine Zafeirakis, Malagousia, Thessaly, Greece, 2021

New to Waitrose's Greek line-up, this organically made Malagousia is available in 70 branches. I'd like to see it bottled under screwcap rather than cork, but it's delicious nevertheless, with peachy and citrussy fruit, and white flowers, a lovely depth of flavour and a tangy, long finish. It comes from vineyards in northern Greece with a high concentration of flint, and there's a structure there that would make it a good match for some fuller-flavoured chicken or fish dishes. Accomplished modern Greek winemaking.
