Royal Tokaji, Vineyard Selection Dry Furmint, Hungary, 2017

The 'Vineyard Selection' dry Furmint is made from fruits harvested from the producer's Szt. Tamás and Nyulászó vineyards. Matured for six months in 300-litre and 500-litre barrels (20% new), the wine features camomile, apricot, yellow apple and a touch of vanilla on the nose. Oily and saline, with plenty of acidity to refresh a palate of dried apricot, grapefruit and white pepper, with a long finish of marmalade.
