Cantina Tollo, Cagiòlo Riserva, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Tollo's flagship red is more wood-influenced and old-school in feel than its Mo Riserva, offering a glimpse of Montepulciano's versatility when it comes to winemaking. Here you get dried, spiced fruits, earth, tobacco and a hint of cedar. It's intense in the mouth, with a big dollop of black fruits and violet overtones followed by a wave of freshness which sweeps the palate clean to reveal some stoniness then a long, woody finish.
