Donna Elvira, Settemazze, Irpinia Aglianico, Campania, 2018

From vineyards in the districts of Grottoni and Apruzzese, this wine has a classic Aglianico character of violet-scented black and red fruits. It has good tannic grip in the mouth, with saline acidity courtesy of the altitude, although the fruit is currently a touch sticky and the oak a little prominent. Black fruits, cherry, forest floor and leather notes merge with wood and gentle spice.
