The indigenous Biancolella variety is early budding and late ripening, facing a long growing season with threats from pests and disease, which probably explains why not much is grown. This pretty example, from the island of Ischia, is fresh, lemony and herbal, with some citrus peel and stone fruits. In the mouth it's more of the same, along with some crunchy apple and a slightly mineral nuance, finishing slightly smoky and very floral.
