This is Lambrusco, but not as you know it. The very sweet, cheap stuff has been replaced here with something vibrant and crunchy. It has black cherry and plum fruit and plenty of fresh acidity. There is a nice sweetness, but at just 10g of residual sugar it helps to balance out the acidity rather than dominate the wine. A very quaffable discovery that is perfect as an aperitif or with a platter of salami; it will be gone before you know it.

There is little better as an accompaniment to dry-cured meats and chunks of aged Parmigiano than a typical Emilia Romagna Lambrusco. Fresh black cherry and blackberry fruits mingle on the palate with brisk acidity and a gentle fizz. The acidity cuts through the richness of the meats and cheese. A fine example made from 100% Lambrusco Maestri.
