Forza della Natura, Orange Catarratto, Sicily, Italy, 2021

Sicily's white grape Cataratto can be fairly anodyne, but here it's given a new lease of life as an orange wine. Around 10% of the blend underwent 12 days skin contact during fermentation, giving the wine its pale amber colour and phenolic grip. Unfined and unfiltered, this displays orange blossom, marmalade and some spice. A great introduction to the orange wine style, and great value.
