Morrisons, The Best Nerello Mascalese, Sicily, Italy, 2018

A heart-warming Nerello Mascalese, one of Sicily's star varieties. It has dark plum and prune on the nose, with hints of rose. There's sweet, ripe, sweet red berry and black plums on the palate, as you'd expect from this sun-kissed island, but the residual sugar is well supported by a good level of acidity and a decent tannin structure.
