Cerasuolo di Vittoria is Sicily's only DOCG, promoted from DOC in 2005. Santa Tresa was one of the first producers to make a wine here, all the way back in 1950. A slightly rubbery aroma is joined by black fruits, a touch of wood and some pepper. Rich and intense, the palate combines prominent raspberry-laced acidity with black cherry, chocolate, wild herbs, raspberry and strawberry. The finish develops notes of wood and gentle spice. Delicious and easy drinking.
