The north-eastern region of Italy shares a lot of heritage and tradition with its German-speaking neighbours over the border. This extends to wine, and here we see a classic German variety grown on Italian soil. It's not as sexy or as fashionable as the greatest German wine export - Riesling - but it still has a lot going for it. A delicate rose petal aroma leads into a rounded, exotic palate with delicate apple and pot-pourri notes. Bramley apple flavours come through on the finish, carried on a wave of acidity. Part of Lidl's Christmas Wine Tour collection, available from 23rd November.
