Chapel Down, Great Minds Drink Alike Sass'alsole by Tenuta

Curated by Chapel Down, this wine is from the 5.6ha Tenuta Tondaia estate in the Alta Maremma. Half of the wine is aged in barriques for 14 months, while the other half spends the time in stainless steel. The soft cherry nose is joined by some brambly fruits, leading into a palate of spicy red fruits and a touch of sweet cream, coffee and chocolate on the long finish. It has a lovely pillowy texture with good balance between fruit and acid. Drink on its own or with a hearty stew, where the acidity will help it float above the food.
