This amphora-matured Tuscan Merlot has a delicate, perfumed nose of sweet red fruits, violets and a whiff of herbs. It's a juicy mouthful at first, with fine-grained, integrated tannins supporting pillowy blueberry, plum, chocolate and coffee. There's a clayey quality from the amphorae on the mid-palate which highlights its structure and leads to a very dry finish with good persistence. Ripe, rich and glossy.
