This is a solid everyday drinking red, offering good bang for your buck. Chianti Riservas must be aged for a minimum two years before release, and this one is from 2016, so mellow by now, with spicy, warm, almost exotic red berry fruit, a chewy rusticity, and a little char character from the oak. This would be perfect with a plate of bolognese midweek.
