This is a fascinating wine. My heart sank when I saw the vintage on the label – a 2016 rosé?! Trust me, it's still fresh, and delicious, the evolution lending real complexity and interest. A coppery hue in the glass, then aromas of cherry, pot pourri, almost slightly nutty. There's a salty tang, still lots of florality, citrus and berry fruit. It ages for two years in large oak barrels, and the red wine treatment gives it structure, and a food-friendly style. Definitely one for wine adventurers. Awarded tre bicchieri by the Italian wine publisher Gambero Rosso.
