This is the fifth vintage of Bertani's single-vineyard Valpolicella Classico Superiore, a southwest-facing 4ha site consisting of two terraces. The vines – a massal selection of Corvina along with Corvinone and Rondinella – are planted in red soils of iron and limestone over clay. Vinified in stainless steel, it then matures on its lees in concrete tanks for up to nine months. Ripe red and black cherry scents are also evoked in the mouth, with lovely intensity of red fruits. It's really zingy, spicy and stony, showing good sapidity, freshness and length.
