Mainly Corvina grapes from a single vineyard are dried for 110 days then pressed, fermented and aged in 50hl Slavonian oak casks. Warm alcohol is balanced by dense, dried red cherry fruit and there's a herbal bitters edge. A classy winter warmer to splash out on, though at £18 the oakier 2016 Cantina Valpantena Amarone is also good.
