Monte del Frà, Casa Capitei, Amarone della Valpolicella

Casa Capitei is a five-hectare estate of terraced vineyard on marl and limestone soils. This Amarone Classico is matured for 30 months in French oak. Baked strawberry and spiced plum aromas introduce a deeply textured, rich palate of plush red and black fruits, accompanied by plenty of woodiness and some subtle sweet spice. Incredible balance and finesse for a 16.5% abv wine, no doubt thanks in part to those limestone soils.
