Tedeschi, Capitel Nicalò, Valpolicella, Superiore, 2018

Capitel Nicalò is a blend of 35% Corvina, 35% Corvinone and 20% Rondinella, with a final 10% shared between Rossignola, Oseleta, Negrara and Dindarella. The wine is matured in Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months, then a further six months in bottle. The result is a spicy wine with hedgerow fruit aromas, zippy acidity and stark red-fruited freshness. Fresh, zingy and fruity, it has wild raspberry and blackberry flavours filled out by some barrel spice and chocolate. Delicious, and great with food.
