This Waitrose exclusive is made from a parcel of vines on family-owned hillside vineyards Conca d'Oro and La Groletta, in the heart of Valpolicella Classico. Only the best bunches are hand-picked and lain in boxes to dry naturally for four months before being gently pressed. After skin maceration and fermentation, the wine is matured for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels, before being bottled and aged for a further year before release. Hence 2015 is the current vintage. It's a real treat – gorgeous, smoky red and black berry fruits, with hints of dark chocolate and leather, powerful and complex. Enjoy with a hearty meat dish.
