The first wine to be released under the relatively new DOC of Serenissima, created in 2011 for traditional method sparkling wines from three hectares in the hills of Veneto. It calls for a minimum of 12 months on lees for non-vintage wines, and this has double that, lending a subtle nutty richness to the fresh citrus, apple and spice character. The mid-palate develops notes of orange and pear, leading into a moreish finish. It could improve more with further age.
