Tesco, Finest Central Otago Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand 2021

Decent Central Otago Pinot Noir doesn't come cheap. This one is made in a fairly commercial style (by the well-known Villa Maria brand), but it's good value at the price. In the glass, it's brighter, redder and more subtle than many Central Otago Pinots, with fresh and vibrant red fruit and strawberry jam flavours. Ten months in barrel has added some oak complexity. It's currently out of stock but should be back on shelves (and online) in July.
