Te Mata Estate, Syrah, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, 2013

Syrah is growing in popularity and now producing some star wines. From a family-owned estate, this wine is delicious and juicy with ripe red fruit, cracked black pepper and a meaty edge. The spicy oak is well integrated on the rich, firm palate. A dash of Viognier adds a floral intensity to the finished product.
