Jackson Estate, Alayna Rosé, Marlborough, New Zealand, 2016

A small batch rosé from the team at Jackson Estate, only their second vintage of this wine. It is due in the UK very soon, but be sure to act quickly - managing director Jeff Hart told me the first vintage sold out in only two weeks! The tone is set by the award-winning image of ballerina Alayna Ng on the front label. There is certainly an elegance to this wine, with a well defined but not overbearing acidity. This is joined by plush, juicy red fruits with cherry and cream hints on the fresh finish. Dry and delicious.
