Awatere Valley in New Zealand's Marlborough region is known for its greener, less tropical style of Sauvignon Blanc. It's still unmistakably Marlborough, with pungent and tangy gooseberry fruit that leaps from the glass, with elderflower and citrus notes. The grapes were picked in the cool of morning and it's been bottled under screwcap, to ensure maximum vibrancy and zing factor. A straightforward example of the style, it's well priced, and will no doubt fly off the shelves.

This New Zealand Sauvignon is typical of the style, offering plenty of gooseberry fruit alongside pea shoots and leafiness. Textured and intense, there's some peachiness along with the bold green fruit character so typical of this style.
