The real focus in the Dão region is the reds, but whites are starting to make their mark, too. Made from indigenous grapes, Encruzado, Cerceal Branco and Malvasia, it’s crisp, fresh and easygoing. Apple and lime come to mind, with a tangy acidity and enough character and individuality to make it lively and enjoyable.
