Quinta do Vallado, Prima, Douro Valley, Portugal, 2016

A remarkably refined Moscatel for the price, and not as a dominant a fruit profile as some. Made from 30-year-old vines and with an element of skin contact before fermentation, it has a very subtle nose of roses, while the delicate but structured palate boasts gentle floral tones, crisp acidity and a zesty, refreshing finish. This ticks all the boxes.
