Alvarinho (the same as Spain's Albariño) is the white grape most people associate with Portugal. Loureiro is Vinho Verde's other important 'branco' (white), boasting brisk acidity, low alcohol and here, juicy flavours of mandarin, nectarine and floral notes. A perfect summer allrounder, on its own or with lighter dishes.
