Marjan Simcic, Sauvignon Reserve, Goriska Brda, 2014

A unique take on Sauvignon Blanc, the aroma from this wine is amazingly fresh, with notes of wild rosemary and basil and undertones of freshly picked lemon. It is similarly herby and citrusy on the palate, with a beautiful saline mineral streak. There are some more typical flavours of pea and gooseberry on the mid-palate which leads into a long, fresh finish.
