Klein Constantia, Sauvignon Blanc, Constantia, 1995

Made by Klein Constantia’s former winemaker, Ross Gower. 1995 was a cool vintage, and this yellow-gold coloured wine is full of pungent, grassy pyrazine scents encompassing nettles, citrus, gooseberry and mineral depth. It has a fantastic linear acid structure, keeping this wine vibrantly alive and assertive. Apart from the texture, there is remarkably little evolution in the wine which will continue to age and improve for another five years at least. Who said you can’t age Sauvignon Blanc?
