The Fledge & Co, Pinot Noir, Elgin, South Africa 2020

The cool, coastal region of Elgin in South Africa is ideal for growing Pinot Noir, and this example is made from two parcels, matured in large used French oak barrels to minimise oaky flavours. The result is a wine with ripe red fruit aromas accompanied by a herbal, balsamic quality and just a hint of bacon. In the mouth it's intense and juicy, with spiced raspberry, wild strawberry and black cherry. A delicious Pinot, well balanced and with good intensity.
